Anthony Eugene Gay was hit by a car as he walked along the street on June 29, 2008 in Lexington, KY. The driver of the vehicle did not stop and left the scene. Amp fought for his life for several days at UK hospital before losing the battle to severe brain and spinal cord injuries. This blog is dedicated the memory of Anthony and to the search for justice for this horrible crime.
The Anthony Eugene Gay Memorial Fund/Foundation is now a reality! Family and friends may support the efforts of Anthony's family by donating to the Fund at any Fifth Third Bank location nationwide.
Anthony Gay, known as Amp to those close to him, had just turned 30 years old on April 9, 2008. He was a very popular and likable guy who was known by many and loved by all. Anthony is best remembered for his gentle soul and incredibly big smile, one that could light up a whole building, let alone a single room. He was a sensitive and caring man who touched every life he came across. Anthony had an incredibly open-mind and always encouraged us all to be ourselves without apology. He was also known for his incredible style, always looking like he had just stepped out of a clothing catalog.
